Interested in developing a course in your municipality?
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania boasts sixteen active disc golf courses, ranging from short, park-style nine hole courses to the #65 course out of the more than 15,000 courses in the world (Muddy Run in Holtwood).
There are many advantages to bringing disc golf to your community:
The sport brings in players who are low-impact, respectful and environmentally-conscious.
A disc golf course is generally simpler and less invasive than other forms of recreation that utilizes paved paths, sports fields or motor vehicle traffic.
Disc golf is an excellent redevelopment approach with unused or under-utilized municipal acreage.
And nine-hole courses (7 in Lancaster County already) are being installed at twice the rate of the longer, more land-intensive 18-hole designs around the world in 2023. A short course can provide a lot of value in a small space (see Manor Township’s Conestoga Creek for a current example).
The Lancaster Disc Golf Club has been working with local municipalities for thirty years to envision and design excellent facilities. We are excited to help your township or borough create new recreational opportunities and the positive economic impacts that the game brings.
