Meet Your Club Leadership

It’s important to know that regardless of whether or not you are currently on the board, it does not prevent you from being involved in club leadership and support. We are always looking for more people to be involved in our course crews who help maintain courses, those who help run leagues & tournaments, those who help with projects and fundraising, or any other aspects of accomplishing our mission statement. What we call “the club” is really a conglomerate of all of you who participate and help grow the sport of disc golf in Lancaster in these various ways. Thanks again for your participation and keep an eye out for nominations each June for next year’s election!

Shawn Conroy #77900

Board Member at large

LISTEN TO SHAWN’S STORY HERE

Shawn started playing disc golf casually in 2014 and jumped into playing tournaments the next year. Being only a low-level Intermediate player on his best days, he saw that he could contribute more to the game in other ways. He ran 4 years of the Lancaster Winter Putting League, and have TD'd around 60 tournaments locally. In 2018, Shawn was asked to join the LAFS Council. Once on the Council, he helped to revive the notion that some other members had previously had regarding seeking nonprofit status. He became one of the primary architects of the Club's ByLaws and helped guide us through the process of gaining our 501c3 status. Shawn served as the Club's inaugural Vice President. Beginning in 2024, he is the Pennsylvania state PDGA Coordinator.

Jeff Geoghan #193460

Board Member at large

Jeff is a 20-year resident of East Petersburg and discovered disc golf in 2021 at Buchmiller like the rest of us. He served for 12 years in the municipal government of East Pete (all volunteer) and is a real estate executive when not throwing plastic. Jeff was the driving force behind the redesign of the Manor Township 9-hole course into Conestoga Creek DGC in 2022-2023, and loves exploring new courses throughout Central PA and the Philly region as well as getting to play with new cardmates.

Ramie Millar #94745

Board Member at large

Ramie Millar has played competitively since 2017, gaining points to play in Amateur Worlds.  After Amateur World’s he found himself asking, what’s next other than competitive play.  He began assisting Travis at the Ship Rock league where he took Ramie under his wing to show him how to run a league and give back to the community. At first, it was showing the community how much we appreciate them with write ups about the rounds and shoutouts to all divisions.  As disc golf began to explode through the pandemic, we saw an influx of new players entering the game.  Ramie truly enjoyed sharing my knowledge of the game to newcomers.  As he continues to contribute on the course, he is interested in how he can contribute off the course.

John Baker #168069

Board Member at large

John is fairly new to disc golf, having picked it up in 2020. He’s been fortunate to benefit from the kindness and friendship of many people he’s met through this sport and hopes to return that every time that he’s on or off the course. With a skill set that puts him at the bottom of most MA4 divisions, he may not always be best suited to offering guidance on the course but hopes to be an ambassador for the club and helping with leagues and tournaments.
